Controversy surrounding the NCPA's statements concerning FINS being one of the ten most endangered parks heating up. NCPA's cynical exploitation of the public's gullibility by telling lies about national parks in order to gain membership and contributions deserves a reprimand from Secretary of the Interior.  FIA 's response at this link.

FIA Position Paper on Non-Structural Beach Protection. The Fire Island Association believes removal of homes is unnecessary, as well as violative of the FINS statute, since well-established methods of beach nourishment can protect existing structures, while newly applicable state law provides adequate assurance that the approved density levels will not be exceeded.
